In the Krkonoše, the beautiful mountains of the Czech Republic, cycling is not only a fun activity but also an opportunity to immerse yourself in the majestic nature of this unique region. In summer, ski resorts turn into vibrant centers for cycling adventures thanks to the resumption of tour bus service and the expanded cycle track infrastructure.
Cycle buses and cycle paths
In the summer season, the Krkonoše tourist lines are again in operation from May to the end of September with specially adapted buses for transporting bicycles. In June every Sat and Sun, in July and August daily and in September Thu, Sat, Sun.
Bike buses can also be used by hikers to transport them around the Krkonoše Mountains.

The surcharge for a bicycle is CZK 10.
Krkonoše offers many nice and interesting terrains for mountain and trekking bikes. From easier cycling routes in the Krkonoše Mountains to more technically and physically demanding routes in the mountains. If you don’t feel like pedaling uphill, you can use the cable cars and enjoy long descents. You can also use cycle buses – specially adapted buses for the transport of bicycles, the timetables of which can be found below. With the exception of the 1st zone of the Krkonoše National Park, you can get practically everywhere by bike, but you can only ride on official cycle routes. By following this rule, you will preserve the rare Krkonoše nature for your children as well. You can find bike shops, bike services, and bike rentals in almost all municipalities.
Our tip: Take the cycle bus as far as Špindlerův Bouda and continue along the Polish cycle route to Przesieka. Back via Szklarská Poreba to the west or Karpacz to the east. Cycle buses will take you from Harrachov and Pomezní Buda to the starting point.
